How to play

Race Long John to Treasure Island in this OutRun-style pirate chase! Hold BOOST to surge ahead — your wind meter drains while boosting but recharges when you coast. Dodge barrels, shipwrecks, reefs, and debris: obstacles drain wind, bump you sideways, and briefly stun your ship. Collect treasure chests for +100 bonus points. The course speeds up as you go. Use boost strategically to overtake Long John and reach the island first.

Tips

Boost strategically — steady draining beats running out at the last turn. Obstacles cost 20 wind and bump you off course. Treasure chests give +100 points. Speed increases as you progress. Long John makes occasional mistakes — time your push.

Treasure Island & Long John Silver

Race to Treasure Island draws inspiration from Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel Treasure Island (1883). The rival pirate Long John Silver — "Long John" in-game — is the novel's iconic one-legged sea-cook turned mutineer.

Louis Rhead (1857–1926) illustrated a 1915 edition of Treasure Island with dramatic full-page artwork. His illustrations capture the novel's stormy, dangerous atmosphere.
